The digital twin, NorDark-DT, is a tool that supports the design, planning, and assessment of suitable outdoor lighting environments, as well as the specification and implementation of visual analytics tools to support data analysis.
The tool was developed by a team at NTNU in Ålesund, Norway, based on inputs from the other work packages.
The goal of the DT was to create a virtual environment that resembled the two trail sites (Lerstadvannet in Ålesund, and Uppsala in Sweden) as realistic as possible by implementing forests according to the local fauna.
The most important aspect of the DT is the ability to simulate the effect of different types and modes of light designs along the walking paths in the terrain.
